Sandwith Roofing successfully defended their Division One title in the West Allerdale and Copeland Cricket Association with two wins in the final week.
They began with a crushing victory over BCMS after batting first and posting 140-6 with retirements from Kristian Moffat (30) and Jake Daniel (31). Neil Talbot was unbeaten on 25 when the innings closed.
Steven Miller claimed 2-19 and then BCMS were held to 96-5 with Mike Yeoman (22) and Andrew Ireland (20no) doing best with the bat. Kieron Doyle took 2-17.
Then needing a win for their fourth successive title they restricted Cockermouth Academicals to 83-3 with Hugh Carter (26no) and Jack Edmondson (24) the main contributors.
With Simon Beare making 35 retired and Kristian Moffat unbeaten on 27 they sailed to 84-2 to claim their seventh crown in eight years.
Windscale Club, Seascale completed an unbeaten season, but the weather denied them any matches versus the champions.
At Cockermouth School they took on the Academicals and their powerful batting line-up amassed 148-5 with telling contributions from Paul Knott (34 ret), Steve Brown junior (25), Lee Fleet (30 ret) and Adam Brown (23no).
A Steve Brown senior hat-trick iced the cake as he claimed 4-10 and his son Steve junior took 2-12 to keep the Accies to 95-8 after Graham Sparke (2) and Hugh Carter (20) had briefly threatened their score.
Braithwaite had few problems against Royal George firstly holding them to 86-5 with Neil Carruthers (27) and Ian Studholme (21no) the top scorers, then reaching 90-3 on the back of Jason Pyke’s 32 retired and Chris Hodgson’s 35 retired. Peter Thompson’s initial burst of 2-12 had promised a contest.

WCSL beat Distington to win the Division Two championship buit details will follow.
The seven men of Allonby overcame 11 men of Isel. Batting first Ben Kyte (72) dominated the bowling and in partnership with Gary Hay (36no) added 129 for the first wicket. They closed on 135-2.
Isel didn’t take full advantage of the gaps in field as only Matt Eden (31) and James Gate (34) scored at the required rate. Richard Burrough bagged 3-13 before Kyte returned 3-14 as Isel closed on 122-8.
Seascale Juniors overcame their Workington counterparts by six runs. They made 117-9 led by Steve Brown junior (35 ret), Jack Graham (32 ret) and Gary Bedford (24) with Jack Burgess (2-8) and Matt Gorley (2-13) being the most successful bowlers.
Despite 31 retired from Matthew Lowden Workington were dismissed for 111 with Jake Saunders (2-12) and Billy Grant (2-19) amongst the wickets.
Broughton scored 113-7 thanks to Jason Alexander (20), Gary Graham (24) and evergreen Ray Dobie (28), with Jamie Bell (2-22) doing best with the ball.
In reply Whitehaven Colts reached 115-7 in the pouring rain with Jamie Carlill (26), and Jamie Bell (29no) to the fore. The combination of Alexander (3-23) and Malcolm Pattinson (2-27) pushed them all the way.

Allonby’s good week extended to the Border Leisure League 7’s after Jamie Bell and Jamie Stewart had both made 25 retired. They controlled the remainder of the innings as Whitehaven Colts closed on 91-4.
In reply Alan Jones and Kieron Clark both also struck 25 retired, but had sufficient support to eke out a victory on 92-2.
Zafran Zahid with 25 was the only batsman in the match to reach the retirement score as Baggrow 2 were all out for 85. League secretary John McGuffie picked up 2-13.
In reply Farhan Zahid’s 3-12 helped dismiss Isel II for 70.
