Seascale cricket trioTHERE’S a tasty first round tie in prospect to next season’s Higson Cup.

Holders Furness travel to play Cleator, the team they pipped to win the North Lancs and Cumbria League’s Premier Division title.

It’s the stand-out game in a first round of eight matches for the League’s major knock-out competition.

The other games are: Dalton v Ulverston; Keswick v Vickerstown; Lindal Moor v Whitehaven; Haverigg v Cockermouth; Penrith v Workington; Carlisle v Kirkby and Wigton v Millom.

The Sowerby Cup for Division One teams has four first round byes =- Wigton, Dalton, Appleby Eden and Egremont.

The four ties to be played are: Duddon SC v Hawcoat SC; Lanercost v Lindal Moor; Cleator seconds v Workington seconds; Millom seconds v Ulverston.

The Vigodny Cup also has four byes – Whitehaven, Keswick, Duddon SC and Haverigg.

The four ties are: Dalton v Furness; Ulverston v Lindal Moor; Hawcoat SC v Vickerstown; Windscale v Seascale.

The draws were made at the League's annual meeting when the various trophies were presented.

Missing was Lee Fleet who won the Division 2 batting averages.
