Jody Banim's Burton Albion career appears to be over after another loan move out of the Blue Square Premier club.
The 30-year-old is joining former club, Blue Square North Droylsden, until the end of the season, having only recently returned to Albion after a month on loan to Altrincham.
Banim has plumped for a return to the Bloods after what Burton boss Roy McFarland described as a "chaotic two days" as clubs vied for his services.
McFarland said: "First he wanted to go to Salford City because his mate is the manager there.
"Then Southport came in and he changed his mind, but that didn't work out, so in the end he's sorted something out with Droylsden because they want him in for the weekend."
The move will bring the curtain down on a stay in which Banim's form failed to live up to expectations.
Former manager Nigel Clough made the ex-Manchester United trainee his first close season signing last summer, but he rarely featured after failing to make the most of an early run in the team.
Banim, 30, scored his only goals in Albion's colours in a Setanta Shield tie against Kidderminster Harriers and an FA Trophy replay at Farsley Celtic.
After failing to impress incoming boss McFarland in January, Banim was packed off to Altrincham and this latest move merely underlines the lack of consistency that has blighted his career.
Banim leapt to prominence when his return of ninety-seven goals in 125 games for Radcliffe Borough earned him a £20,000 move to Shrewsbury Town in 2003.
Since then, however, his only other productive spell was at Droylsden last season when he scored ten times in twenty-seven games.
Gary Mills, manager of Blue Square North high-flyers Tamworth has brought in 29-year-old Mansfield Town utility player Michael Blackwood on loan until the end of the season.
Blackwood will go straight into the squad for Tamworth's trip to Hucknall Town tomorrow.
Mills said: "He is a player who has caught my eye on a number of occasions, and he will prove a good signing at this stage of the season."
Tamworth now have four games in ten days, with only one of these fixtures at The Lamb.
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has strengthened his squad for tomorrow’s trip to Vauxhall Motors by signing central midfield player Ian Ross, 23, from Blue Square North neighbours and rivals Gainsborough Trinity this lunchtime.
Ross began as a trainee with Sheffield United in 2003 and has had loan spells with Boston United, Bury and Notts County before joining Rotherham United on a free in November 2007.
The Sheffield-born player was released by the Millers in the summer of 2008 and joined Gainsborough.
Ross has played at the Impact Arena before, for Sheffield United in a 2-0 pre-season friendly win for the Blades on July 2007, and as a late substitute for Gainsborough in their 4-1 victory in the league on October 21st, 2008.
Ross goes straight into the squad for the trip to Vauxhall where Alfreton will be needing a first win in five Blue Square North games to advance their push for a play-off place.
Alfreton visit Workington next Saturday.
