Farsley CelticFarsley Celtic have pledged to fight the Football Conference’s decision to prohibit them from taking part in the Blue Square North.

Farsley, who avoided a winding up order in the High Court in London on Wednesday with just hours to spare after brewery Coors called in the administrators, now face having nowhere to play next season even if the club should survive.

The Celts say they got an e-mail from the Conference last night informing them they couldn't play in its North division next season.

They have 14 days to appeal and should the Football Association uphold the ruling they are unlikely to find a place in an alternative league with the constitutions for 2009-10 already decided.

The only hope for Farsley now is that the FA refuses to sanction the Conference's move which the league tried and failed to implement on Northwich Victoria at the end of last season.

Today Farsley confirmed the launch of their “101, Still Going Strong” appeal to raise funds for the appeal.

Official club spokesman, Philip Morris said: “ We are launching a fighting fund to raise money to cover the cost of specialist sports lawyers to appeal the decision of the Football Conference.

“The club has been in existence for 101 years and is really on the brink, so the message of the fund is one of  determination  - 101 Still Going Strong sends the message that we might be down at the moment, but we are not out.

“We hope that the people of the village get behind us, dip into their pockets in a small way and raise some money to allow the club to maintain their Conference North status.

“This decision does affect a lot of local people, whether or not they follow Farsley Celtic. The volume of people that has passed through the gates has had a positive effect upon the businesses of Farsley over the last couple of years  and I hope that the Football Association will recognize the injustice of this decision and reverse it “
