danlowsonDan Lowson of Ilkeston Town has won the Player of the Month award in the Blue Square North.

The goalkeeper (pictured) completed a club record period without conceding a goal as the League newcomers consolidate on a good start to the season.

One of those shut-outs was at Borough Park where the Derbyshire side picked-up a point from a 0-0 draw.

Former Workington manager Tommy Cassidy might have a wry smile when he sees the name of Lowson as the monthly award winner. He had Lowson during his time at Newcastle Blue Star and wasn’t his biggest fan.

It must be a good month for goalkeepers as Oxford United custodian Ryan Clarke has won the Blue Square Premier "Player of the Month" award for September.

The former England U21 shot-stopper has been a key feature in Oxford's fantastic start to the season since signing from Northwich Victoria in the summer.

The award makes a double for Oxford with boss Chris Wilder scooping the honours for 'Manager of the Month'.

In the Blue Square South the award goes to Newport County striker Craig Reid. The Coventry born forward found the net seven times in five matches as Dean Holdsworth's side kept their title push on track. Holdsworth himself took the managers award to make it a September double for the Welsh club.
