Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law (left) has been singing the praises of top scorer Liam Hearn this week by labeling him his "best ever find".
Hearn 23,(pictured below) has scored an amazing 19 league and cup goals in just 14 starts with a further 6 appearances from the bench since his arrival at the Impact Arena from Unibond Division One South side Quorn in mid-September.
He previously had one season at near rivals Hucknall Town where he was top scorer netting 16 times during the 2003/04 season. He also played for Santos, Eastwood and Chasetown.
His prolific start to his Alfreton career led him to being named in Paul Fairclough's England C side for a friendly against Malta, he was however removed from the squad due to not holding a British passport his place going to Barrow's Paul Brown.
Law said: “Every now and again you take a gamble on a player from a lower level but Liam has surpassed every expectation and right now he is probably the hottest striker in non league football.
“If he doesn’t score again this season he will have still done well for us with 18 goals but I would fancy him to easily get somewhere between 25 and 30 for us.
“I can honestly say that he is probably the best ever find I have made in football management anywhere.”
