Alfreton Town have awarded Ben Muirhead a one-year contract after some outstanding p;erformances for the Derbyshire Reds.
He joined them prior to the start of the season after being released by Rochdale and has enjoyed some eye-catching displays. One of them was in the 0-0 draw with Workington.
A former Manchester United trainee and ex-Bradford City the elusive Muirhead has been catching the eye of other clubs, so the contract arrangement is good thinking by Alfreton.
Goalkeeper Kyle Sutcliffe has re-signed for the club on non-contract terms and will be eligible to play in the FA Cup if required.
Reds boss Nicky Law is also keen on strengthening his options still further and has put in seven days’ notice of approach for an as yet unnamed striker.
Matt Wilson’s loan spell at UniBond League Premier Division Worksop Town has been extended from one month to three but the Reds now have a 24-hour call-back facility on the central defender.
