northwich_victoria_main_stand.jpgSOME familiar names will be again providing opposition to Workington Reds in the 2010/11 Blue Square North.

The proposed League line-ups have been announced with Boston United, Guiseley, Nuneaton and Worcester all back in the same League again.

Harrogate Town and Vauxhall Moors, who should both have been relegated, have been reprieved and it’s Northwich who have disappeared from the League structure.

Northwich are still in administration and did not meet the League’s May 8 deadline for a CVA guaranteeing 100% repayment of all debts.

However, Northwich (main stand pictured) have said that they are prepared to take the case to the European Court of Arbitration for Sport to keep the club at Step Two.

Northwich chairman Jim Rushe says: “We are going to pay 100% of the CVA we’ve agreed with our creditors.

“Our administrator Gary Pettit has the right to go to court for directions which would mean we go for an injunction to stop them forming a League without us.

“As a club we will appeal top the FA but Gary will go to court, the High Court if necessary ad, if advised, the European Court of Arbitration for Sport o see if it stands up.

“There isn’t any amount of money that will frighten us off the legal case. I feel it is justified we fight and will go out and find the money, rather than take it lying own.”

So it’s still possible that Northwich could appear in the fixture list, in which case probably Worcester would stay in Blue Square South – where they were near the bottom themselves.

At the moment the League is looking like - AFC Telford United, Alfreton Town, Blyth Spartans, Boston United, Corby Town, Droylsden, Eastwood Town, Gainsborough Trinity, Gloucester City, Guiseley, Harrogate Town, Hinckley United, Hyde United, Ilkeston Town, Nuneaton Town, Redditich United, Solihull Moors, Stafford Rangers, Stalybridge Celtic, Vauxhall Motors, Worcester City and Workington.

At Northwich, with the club’s future, up in the air manager Andy Preece has just two players left on the books under contract – Wayne Riley (who scored the second goal in their 3-2 home defeat by Reds near the end of the season) and Michael Connor.

Reds won’t have to face Jack Defty at Corby Town. The big striker has moved back to his old club King’s Lynn where he was a club legend. Corby could also be set to lose midfielder Leon Hibbert after he impressed in a trial at Lincoln City.
Striker Jake Edwards has announced his retirement at Solihull while another experienced marksman Luke Beckett has turned down a reduced deal to stay at Gainsborough.

Droylsden’s ex Southport striker Tony Gray is likely to be heading for promoted Fleetwood.
