In Division One of the West Cumbria Over-35’s League Carlisle City strengthened their lead at the top with a 6-2 derby victory over bottom team St Bede’s.
David Jenkins, Barry Pilkington and Graham Ruddick each grabbed a brace for the League leaders.
For St Bede’s Doug Sharp and Mark Storey scored one each and the team now look doomed for the drop to Division Two next year.
Netherhall are looking like they could also face relegation along side St Bede’s after a 3-1 home defeat by Frizington.
Another rare Roger Denwood goal was not enough to get anything from the game for the Maryport side.
Frizington, who could be Carlisle City's main challenger for the title if they can win their games in hand, took all three points with goals from Graham Carruthers, Sean McAllister and Steve Meagan.
The Zimmer's and Penrith both got the result that neither side wanted - a 2-2 draw - when the teams met in Penrith.
For Penrith Mike Chubb and Alan Parkin scored a goal each while for the Zimmer's Robert Copeland and Paul Telford also scored one goal each.
The Zimmer's can only hope that City slip in their last four games to have any chance of catching them.
Grasslot, like Frizington, have an outside chance of catching City at the top and they demolished Whitehaven 6-1 to keep their hopes alive. Mike Dempsey (3), Steve Scott (2) and Phil Hoyles were the Maryport team’s scorers.
Silloth and the Globe are neck and neck at the top of Division Two with Silloth ahead by one point though the Globe do have a game in hand.
Both teams put in strong performances last week with Silloth routing the Bluebell 5-1 and the Globe coming out on top in the Cockermouth derby against the Bush 4-2.
Silloth’s scorers were Andrew Harrison (2), Colin Campbell, Keith Hodgson and John Stabler.
For the Bluebell Steve Earl scored early on to give the Workington team the lead.
In the other game Barry Parker scored twice for the Bush. However Rab Bower, Simon Rickerby (2), and Bobby van den Bosche scored for an in-form Globe side who would have scored at least four more if Bush keeper Steve Rothwell had not yet again been in superb form.
In the division’s other game the wheels have well and truly came off Frostoms’ season as they slumped to their third consecutive defeat and in the process they have conceded 13 goals in the three games.
The 6-1 defeat against Moresby came after a bright first half, with not a lot between the teams, until David Ward made the most of a defensive mix-up to score.
Frostoms hit back when Mike Cameron squeezed the ball in at the near post.
However Ward again made the most of another slip up at the back to give Moresby a 2-1 lead at half time.
In the second half Moresby showed why they are the County Cup holders with goals from Andy Lithgow (2), Paul Curtis and another from Ward to complete his hat-trick to give them an emphatic victory.
