Wayne MurrayIn the West Cumbria Over-35’s the League Division Two champions Globe celebrated their title with a tight 2-1 victory over Moresby.

The Globe dominated the first half with Mark Greaves giving them a 1-0 half time lead.

Andy Lithgow equalised for Moresby early in the second half, and they then dominated the game but were guilty of missing several good goal scoring opportunities.

However the Globe showed why they are the champions when Brian Graham, on the turn just outside the box, fired home the winner in the last minute.

Frostoms experienced the highs and lows of football in two games in a week.

In their first fixture they beat the Bush 2-0 with a brace from Dave Christiansen.

In their next game against bottom club Hall Park Hotel thy battled back from a two-goal deficit at half time to lead 3-2 with 15 minutes remaining.

However Hall Park fought back to score twice in five minutes to win the game 4-3.

George Atkinson (2), Paul Fryer and Paul Gibbon were the Hall Park scorers. For Frostoms top scorer Wayne Murray scored two to take his season’s total to 13 goals. Christiansen was the other scorer.
