Yankees have just completed a remarkable season in the West Cumbria Youth League section for Under-16’s.

The Workington side went through the season unbeaten and picked-up four major trophies along the way.

Former Whitehaven rugby league winger Malcolm McClure and ex-Workington Reds full-back Marc Green are the driving forces behind the Yankees team – and they have their sights set even higher next season.

For Yankees, under the leadership of Messrs McClure and Green are applying to join the senior Tesco Cumberland County League and will be applying to join at the annual meeting.

The bulk of the squad who have proved unbeatable in their final year as Under-16’s will provide the backbone to the side ready to tackle open age football.
