In a direct contrast to their game on Saturday, Penrith earned a point from a 2-2 draw – but in a different way.

At Shildon the Cumbrians had looked down and out when they trailed 2-0 but battled to the end, reducing the arrears through Michael Reed and then the same player grabbed a last gasp equaliser.

Last night Penrith conceded a two-goal lead at home to Billingham Town in another 2-2 draw.

Reed and Ryan Errington scored within the space of two minutes for Penerith but David Turner reduced the deficit, and  then Errington deflected the ball into his own net for the equaliser.

Penrith remain sixcth bottom of the Skilltrainingcentre Ltd Northern League Division One but along with Morpeth, Newcastle Benfield and Dunstan Federation have played fewer games thany any other team.

On a six-match current form table, however, they lie third from bottom.

Interestingly on Saturday they entertain Morpeth, who have also only played 19 League games so far, and face a hectic catch-up programme over the next three months.
