Steve Pope Colwyn Bay managerColwyn Bay boss Steve Pope (pictured) has been busy signing six new players for his Unibond Division One North club Colwyn Bay.

Jonathon Crompton, a powerful 6` 3” centre half , released by Port Vale could be a shrewd capture. He captained Vale’s FA Youth Cup side last season to wins against Bolton and Tottenham on the way to a quarter final defeat against Chelsea.

Striker Carl Frost, who began his career at Crewe Alexandra playing alongside Dean Ashton, has also joined after spells with Witton Albion and Leek Town.

Last season he turned down an offer to sign for UniBond North champions Bradford Park Avenue and is now looking to get back to his best following injury problems.

James McIntosh, a physical centre forward who has scored twenty-one goals in fifty-three appearances in the last two seasons for Airbus UK Broughton in the Principality Welsh Premier, has also put pen-to-paper.

Pope has also secured the return to the club of Kyle Armstrong who had been putting in some impressive performances for Leek Town in the UniBond Premier.

In addition, pacey left-sided player Matty Wood, 19, has signed from Blue Square North play-off contenders AFC Telford United, along with 20-year-old defender Scott Lycett from Halesowen Town who was also previously with Port Vale, Manchester City and Leicester City.
