Mike Norton Curzon AshtonAce marksman Mike Norton has committed himself to Curzon Ashton before heading off on a summer break.

Manager Gary Lowe was determined to get his name on the club’s registration sheet and the player actually extended his contract by two years.

Norton (left) has scored over 80 goals in the last two seasons and Curzon Ashton chairman Harry Galloway said "Mike could have started next season off on the option year of his contract so we are delighted that he has agreed to extend his current contract.

“He has a phenomenal scoring record so like any other club you would not wish to see a player like that leave, so we are delighted that he is staying with us.

"We had enquiries for the lad on a couple of occasions during the season, but we had no wish to sell and he had no wish to go, so at the end of the day both parties are more than happy."
