Marine have signed the former Everton goalkeeper Sean Lake, 21, on a contract for next season in the UniBond League Premier Division.
After joining the Toffeemen at the age of ten Lake went on to play for the club’s youth and reserve teams. He made six England Schoolboy appearances during his time at Goodison.
Since leaving Everton at the age of 17 he has played for Vauxhall Motors, Radcliffe Borough and recently Cammell Laird. Whilst at Everton Lake won six England Schoolboy caps.
Marine manager Alvin McDonald added: “This is an exciting signing for the club. Sean is highly-rated and he will be our number one goalkeeper for next season and hopefully for the seasons to follow.
“This is a great opportunity for him to become settled at a club and to demonstrate his true potential.”
Marine’s capture of Lake means he is now the ninth player on contract terms at the Arriva Stadium and his signing comes after McDonald narrowly missed out on two other goalkeepers.
Lake is Marine’s first signing of the summer.
