Morecambe have changed their mind over the proposed friendly at Borough Park so Saturday July 31 remains blank for Workington Reds.
A delay in the hand-over of Morecambe’s new stadium had caused problems with the Second Division side’s pre-season friendlies.
The club had approached Workington about the prospect of coming to play at Borough Park and it fitted in well for the Reds as they did not have a game planned for that date.
But it appears Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy (pictured) has had a change of mind and the game is not going to take place.
The Shrimps are due to visit Wycombe the following week in the first game of the new season and he’s looking at structuring his friendlies in a different manner.
