Out of sorts Reds' Reserves staged a dramatic late recovery to salvage a point from Friday evening's Lancashire League game at Borough Park.
Trailing 2-0 with just fourteen minutes to go, Reds scored twice to force an unlikely draw having been second best for much of the game.
Martyn Coleman's fine individual goal after 77 minutes prompted a spirited finale and they equalised two minutes from time via the penalty spot.
Coleman looked certain to score the leveller when he rounded the Clitheroe 'keeper but last defender Martin Aspinall tripped the Reds' striker as he was about to guide the ball home. Referee Scott Taylor pointed to the spot and sent-off Aspinall before skipper Craig Johnston junior (pictured) converted the penalty.
A lively Clitheroe side dominated the first half and deservedly went in front after 39 minutes through Chris Clarkson.
They doubled their lead on the hour when substitute Danny Paton waltzed through a static defence before finishing in style.
At that point, Reds looked doomed but the outstanding Lee McCullough started to dominate the game and, after only one decent shot on target during the first half, they started to create chances culminating in those late goals which secured a welcome point.
Team: James Bryden, Matthew Brown, Gregg Mitchell (Grant Bell), Craig Johnston, Brian Rutherford (Callum Lee), Adam Main, Micky Sewell, Lee McCullough, Martyn Coleman, Dan McDermott, Gareth Brunton (Nick Holden)
