Workington Reds are looking into who scored an own goal at Borough Park today.

A blue sign declaring Welcome to Workington Town – proud members of Blue Square Bet North has been erected on the new fencing at the revamped town end of the ground.

Workington fans always see red when they are billed as Workington Town by other clubs when they host the west Cumbrians.

Workington’s rugby league club is the Town, the football team is simply Workington AFC or if you wish to add the nickname in the title, Workington Reds.

Club officials have no problem with the sign going up at that particular point on the outside of the ground, but are anxious to find who designed and fitted it without having checked for accuracy.
