mountain_biking.jpgCHANNEL 4 will be  filming the adidas TERREX Adventure Race which is centred on Keswick over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Over 30 teams of four people have entered and race planners have managed to keep the 400km long route a secret from athletes for a whole year so are now excited about racers actually getting out there and testing it.

The adidas TERREX Adventure Race commences in Keswick next Thursday (August 26th)  with a Prologue Adventure Race. This starts at 7 30 p.m. in the town centre. It is a free race open to teams of four.

The aim of the Prologue is to put on a bite size adventure race for local people and teams that want a piece of the action without entering the full race. Event organizers would welcome support at the start and finish of this event.

The main race commences in the early hours of Friday 27th and there will be regular updates on progress and clips of film footage and images from the event on www.adidas-ar.com . The event is being televised for a whole hour on Channel 4 on November 7th.

Teams can expect to traverse the fells by foot, swoop down the area’s best single track on a mountain bike and to paddle across the lake, not to mention a few hidden surprises to keep them on their toes. It is sure to be a true test of each athlete’s mental and physical stamina.

It will take racers between three and four days to reach the finish of the race and athletes can be expected to be seen arriving back in Keswick in the early hours of Monday morning, 30th August and throughout the day.

The new planetFear store in Keswick on Heads Road is hosting the registration while celebrating the opening of the shop at the same time with a major launch party, featuring live music, food, drink, and special offers.

There will be various outdoor challenge activities in store to celebrate all aspects of adventure over the whole weekend. The progress of the racers can be followed in store on the big screen.
