DAVE and Carol Wilson have completed a full-house of Channel races by winning the fourth and final event from Messac.
The Egremont fanciers became the first ever to win all four Fed races from across the Channel in the same season. After two wins from the Carentan races, the loft also won from Fougeres and made it four in a row when clocking from Messac on Saturday.
Their three-year-old blue pied cock, which had been second from Fougeres last year, was clocked at 9-06pm following the 8-00am liberation and will also win the Two Feds Amalgamation.
It was probably in company with the Derwent Valley Federation winner clocked by Mark Hodgson at Flimby 9-31pm.
Both Federations only had two birds each on the night – Alan Graham and co of Cleator Moor were second in the West Cumbria Fed at 9-50pm with a yearling. Returns on the second day were also sparse.
The latest winner for Mr and Mrs Wilson is bred off a white tailed hen when she was paired to her son.
“The sire of this Messac winner also bred a blue cock which won twice for me last year,” said David ‘Sugar’, who also paid tribute to the work put in by their loft helper Jim Hardman.
Naturally getnoticedonline.co.uk was first there to take the historic picture. Jim is on the left with the blue hen which won two of the Channel races; Carol has the white hen and Sugar is holding the blue pied cock which completed the full house.
