Five Cumbrians have been included in the BARLA Under-23's squad ahead of a trial fixture with England Students.

They are in a squad of 26 players maned by BARLA Great Britain Under 23s coach Kevin Thompson and his assistant Kevin Armitstead.

The Cumbrians are: Lee Edwards (Barrow Island),  Mark Haycock (Cockermouth), John Fiddler (Glasson Rangers), Scott Lofthouse (Kells) and Richard Farrer (Egremont

.The match, which will be played at College Grove, Wakefield, on Tuesday May 13 (7.00pm), is being played as part of the build-up to the tour to Italy in June.

The party includes four players – Carl Booth and Ashley James (both of Myton Warriors), Andrew Brearley (Drighlington) and Richard Cattley (Stanley Rangers) who featured in last summer’s successful trip to the same country in which both Tests were won and the Simone Franchini Nines Trophy retained.
