Wakefield Wildcats eased through their Challenge Cup tie at Craven Park by beating Barrow Raiders 58-6.
There’s a massive gulf between Super League and National Two and the Raiders were never going to repeat the week-end heroics of their soccer club neighbours.
Against the power and pace of the Wildcats, the Raiders were never seriously in contention although they competed with tremendous spirit throughout.
But the biggest cheer of the day was reserved for Barrow’s try late in the second half when Brad Nichols got on the end of a cross-field kick from Darren Holt and managed to pick a way through a strangely hesitant Wakefield defence to score.
Barrow fans would have gone home happy then but Wakefield weren’t finished and further tries from Matt Blaymire, Danny Brough and Kyle Bibb took their score past the half-century mark.
