They are included in Pool Three alongside Keighley Cougars and York City Knights, with the successful side decided after a round robin-style tournament.

Eight teams will emerge from the Pool stages, to contest the quarter finals in straight knock-out.

The winners of the Northern Rail 9’s will go on to represent The Co-operative Championships clubs at the Carnegie Floodlit 9’s at Headingley Carnegie Stadium in August.

The tournament will be decided on Saturday July 17 at The Memorial Ground, Fylde.

The draw is as follows:

Pool 1
Dewsbury Rams
Rochdale RL
Swinton Lions
Gateshead Thunder

Pool 2

Sheffield Eagles

Pool 3

Whitehaven RL

Pool 4

The picture is a flash-back to last year when Blackpool were the first winners of the tournament.
