Andy GorskiAndy Gorski has signed a new 12-month deal with Whitehaven for next season’s National One campaign.

The 28-year-old second-row forward joined Haven early last season, signing from Halifax in April.

He started his career with Salford and then spent three years at Rochdale where he was appointed club captain.

When Whitehaven lost the services of Richard Fletcher it was Gorski who was earmarked as his natural replacement.

Gorski is showing his commitment to the Whitehaven cause by moving up to live and be based in west Cumbria.

“It was a particularly good end to the season for the club and I enjoyed being part of it which has influenced my decision to sign a new deal.

“I think it was important after a strong finish like that to keep as many of the squad as possible and we seem to have done that and added a new face or two. I think Dan Ruassell from Gateshead will be a particularly good signing,” he said.
