WHITEHAVEN’S game with Oldham – part of the Howard Hill Testimonial – was called-off well in advance of Sunday’s scheduled kick-off.
Officials now hope that the weather will have relented to be able to fit-in the fixture on a mid-week date before the start of the Northern Rail Trophy campaign.
Oldham chairman Chris Hamilton has already said that the Roughyeds will play a mid-week game and one of the likeliest dates is Wednesday, January 20.
That’s four days before Whitehaven’s big friendly at the Recreation Ground against Leeds Rhinos – and the club is forging ahead with plans for the big day, counting on the weather improving.
