ROCHDALE Hornets coach John Stankevitch has warned his side to expect a forward barrage at Derwent Park on Sunday.
Stankevitch believes that Town will want to create a forward battle and he’s organising his own troops accordingly.
He said: “They’re a very big side with a pack of front rowers in terms of size.
“They’re going to come one way, and that’s straight down the middle of the field. It’s just a matter of muscling up.
“I’m going to run with the same team as last week and we’re going to try to move them around and put them under pressure.”
He added: “We’re looking at a minimum of seven points from our last four games to achieve a minimum of fifth in the league. That would be a massive achievement, but we’re going all guns blazing to win every game.”
Stankevitch has recruited three Super League stars to help his squad in the final push for the play-offs.
England and Great Britain internationals Jon Wilkin, Paul Wellens and Mickey Higham took part part in Hornets’ training session at Oulder Hill Schoollast night.
Stankevitch believes the trio will boost the squad for the run-in and that a different voice could be just what the doctor ordered.
He said: "All three lads have great professional ethics and a fantastic upbringing in the game. They have worked with some superb coaches and I am sure they will bring some different approaches and add to the session.
"I sometimes forget we have a very young squad and players that haven’t been around top professionals before. Hopefully their attitudes will rub off on our lads and, in terms of enthusiasm, it will be excellent."
Meanwhile Workington have injury concerns over winger/hooker Jamie Marshall who had to come off at York last Sunday with a damaged shoulder.
Lee Dutton could be back to boost the pack while Elliot Miller, the young winger who scored two tries on his debut three weeks ago is also in contention after returning from holiday.
Looking at the opposition, Town joint coach Gary Charlton said: “They’ve put a good team together.
“They work for each other and they don’t make many errors. We’ve got to make sure we combat that, but I think we’ve got the players to do it.”
Town are looking to win their last two home games and pick-up something on the road at Hunslet and Doncaster to cement their place in the play-offs.
