Workington Town coach Dave Rotheram faces another reshuffle after three players were ruled out of his potential squad to face Oldham.

But in a more positive note Rotheram has re-signed Rob Lunt who has been playing for Huddersfield’s reserve grade side in recent weeks.

Lunt scored 10 tries in 23 appearances for Town in 2007 but a persistent back problem restricted him to just 14 games last term.

It looked as though the 23-year-old#s career was coming top a premature end but advice from a physio with the Australian club St George Illawarra got him back into action.

For the last three months of the amateur season he played for Broughton Red Rose and has been playing for Huddersfield’s second string while looking for employment over there.

Lunt will go straight into the side to face Oldham but Jamie Marshall will miss out due to a facial injury while loan pair Marc Shackley and Marc Bainbridge have been recalled by Whitehaven.

The team will be chosen from: Beattie, Burgess, Carter, Coupar, Coward, Dobson, Frodsham, Farrimond, Kaufman, King, Lunt, Mossop, Pedley, Robinson, Scott, Stack, Whitehead, Wilson

Rotheram said: “I was disappointed last week. I thought we’d turned a bit of a corner against Swinton with a massive improvement in our performance, but it got away from us a little bit at the weekend.

“We’ve got to control the ball and not give up soft field positions. If we do that against Oldham then we will find ourselves having big problems to deal with.”

He added: “Oldham were good at York last week. I’m sure they’ll be wanting to avenge that defeat pretty quickly.”

Oldham coach Tony Benson will give Paul Reilly (broken nose) a late fitness test to prove his ability to play while Dave Allen is expected to have recovered from a calf injury.

Benson said: “Things can jump up and hit you by the throat when you least expect it. There’s no way we’ll be taking Workington lightly and we’ll have to be ready to play come Sunday afternoon.

“We can always improve and we look at that every week in training.”
