Derwent ParkWorkington Town produced their best result of the season last night when they ended Doncaster’s unbeaten run in National Two.

The only disappointing feature of the switch to Friday night rugby at Derwent Park (pictuired) was the crowd of 626.

On the field most things went right for Dave Rotheram’s men as they established an 18-4 half-time lead and had the strength and determination to repel Doncaster’s frantic efforts in the second-half.

Shaun Lunt, back in the Workington line-up, showed how valuable he is to Rotheram and the Town club by scoring two of the five Workington tries.

Brett Smith, back after his long absence, also crossed and Australian forward Chris Young bagged his first in Town colours. Jason Mossop scored the other.

Carl Forber landed six goals to round-off an excellent effort which cheered the Town faithful.
