LEAGUE winners from National Two to the top regional leagues in the country will have the chance to prove they are the best at their level following the introduction of new cup competitions.

The League Champions Cups will produce a thrilling finale to the season with places in a Twickenham Stadium on Sunday May 2 final up for grabs for the winners of National Two North and South, National Three London & SE, Midlands, North and South West and the eight top regional leagues at level six of the league structure.

Terry Burwell, RFU Tournaments & Competitions director, said: "The League Champions Cups follow the successful French model to find the best team at each of levels 4, 5 & 6.

"These new competitions bring the season to a natural climax - a fitting end to the narrative.

"Having secured promotion, the teams involved have one final challenge. To earn the title of Champion Club at their level and rightfully claim to be the best team in the country.

" It is a meaningful way of bringing the country together by taking the strongest teams from the 4 divisions at each level. It also overcomes the 'random' draw of knockout cups that often skew the value of cups."

The winners of National Two North and South will meet in their League Champions Cup final at Twickenham Stadium on May 2.

Kendal are Cumbria’s representatives in National Two North.

The four National Three League winners - level 5 of the pyramid structure - will be involved in semi-finals on April 17.

Penrith are Cumbria’s representative in National Three North.

The eight winners of the top regional leagues at level 6 - London One North, London One South, Midlands One East, Midlands One West, North One East, North One West, South West One East and South West One West - will be involved in League Champions Cup quarter-finals on April 17 with the semi-finals on April 24.

Aspatria play in North Two West with Carlisle in North Two East.

There are three RFU competitions for clubs below level 6 - the RFU Intermediate Cup, RFU Senior Vase and RFU Junior Vase - the finals of which will be held at Twickenham on May 8 along with the Championship final.

But each region will be responsible for producing one qualifier for the national semi-finals of each competition. The draws for the other rounds will be made on a regional
