Premiership player O'Hagan (pictured alongside) took on Whitehaven's Ryan Henry of Division One and took a tight opening frame.

The John Street Club cueist then went from strength to strength to win 5-0 with the help of 40, 36 and 32 breaks, but it was in the third and match-winning frame that the former county runner-up compiled the highest break of the season so far with an excellent 102.

O'Hagan is now twelve points behind long-time leader Robert Sim of Whitehaven with two games in hand.

Continuing with an eventful week, Sim - who competes in the county semi-finals this week - succumbed to his first league defeat of the season against first division leader Richard Nelson of Clifton.

Sim set off in routine fashion with a 31 break in taking the first frame. Both players then shared the spoils to leave Sim with the 2-1 lead.

However a gritty display by the Clifton Lions cueist saw Nelson come through the 3-2 victor for a lower league versus higher league upset.

Nelson fared far worse when challenged by Workington's Mark Tunstall going down by 5-0 including losing out in a black-ball final frame. Nelson lies in second place just two points behind the leader.

Continuing the division one versus premiership opposition upsets Division One's front-runner Chris D'Leny of Keswick raced to an unassailable 3-0 lead, including a black-ball third, over the Premiership's Steven O'Hagan.

O'Hagan rescued a more respectable 3-2 reversal with two comfortable final frames and remains in the third premiership place .

Division One's Ryan Henry of Whitehaven went one better over Maryport's Mike Park of the premiership.

Henry (pictured right) took the opening frame only for Park to pull the match back even with the help of a 35 break. Then Henry took a tight third and closed the match out with a break of 39 in the fourth to secure the win. ryan_henry_action1.jpg

Park made a break of 30 in the final frame but could not prevent the Marchon player taking the match 4-1. Henry lies in third place in Division One six points behind Nelson.

Park fared much better in two of his catch-up fixtures to take himself into fourth place just four points behind O'Hagan.

First he defeated Whitehaven's Dave Atkinson 4-1 taking two comfortable opening frames including a 66 break in the second before Atkinson replied with the third. Park then sealed the win with his highest break of the season so far, a 69, before taking a clear final frame.

Park also defeated Division One's Dave Chapman by the same score-line including a 30 break in the third frame after a brief rally by Chapman to pull the match back to 1-1.

Workington's Alan Stephenson slipped to bottom place in the premiership by a single point despite a useful victory over Tunstall. Stephenson was 2-0 up before Tunstall responded with the third. Stephenson closed the match out 3-1 with Tunstall taking the final frame for a 3-2 defeat.

The Seaton Legion player then took on Clifton young cueist Gary Mattinson and went 2-0 up including a black-ball second frame. Mattinson then pulled the match back to 2-1 only for Stephenson to take the final two frames for a 4-1 victory.

Closing date for completion of the Intrim Trophy semi-finals is Sunday 28th March. R.Sim (Marchon) v C.D'Leny (Derwent) & R.Nelson (Clifton) v S.O'Hagan (John St).
