Week three of the summer individuals snooker in the West Cumbria Snooker League saw Copeland's Robert Sim extend his lead to ten points writes GREEN BAIZE.

He scored a 4-0 win over newcomer Richard Nelson of Clifton despite two very close opening frames.

That left Nelson on five points with four other competitors.

Mark Tunstall (pictured) has emerged at the head of the chasing pack as he drew 2-2 with another Workington cueist Clive Lister. Tunstall compiled a break of 38 in the second frame.

The John Street-based player earned a useful 3-1 victory over Maryport's Ryan Ismay with breaks of 41 and 32 while Ismay replied with a 45 break in winning his sole frame. Tunstall has two games in hand of Sim but is ten points behind.

Workington's Dave Chapman took the lead twice in his clash against Maryport's Mike Park which ended in a 2-2 draw, Park compiling a 31 break in the second frame.

Meanwhile Workington's Steven O'Hagan boosted his league position with a 4-0 win over Nelson. O'Hagan is now up to third.

It's been quite an active week in division two with Keswick's Chris D'Leny maintaining his 100% record at the top in defeating Glasson Club's Craig Denwood 3-1.

D'Leny sealed the win with a 34 break in the final frame after Denwood had taken the early lead.

The Maryport cueist had mixed results in a busy week with a 3-1 victory over Keswick's Tom Mattinson but suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Cockermouth's Paul Killingley.

Killingley also had a 4-0 win over Mattinson but was held to a 2-2 draw when up against Workington's Stuart Ryan. Killingley is now in the second promotion place a single point behind the leader.

Ryan fared better in defeating Maryport's Shaun Moore 4-0.
