Clip of the day, July 5th, 2008 - Marshall Scott Etc - Same old feeling

Now here's a real treat, a rare piece of footage on one of west Cumbria's finest - Marshall Scott and the Deputies, or as they became after the move to London - Marshall Scott Etc.

We used to follow them round the various dance valls, village halls, tanner hops - from Dufton to Dearham. Then we thought they had really made it big. This was their first recording but I believe it was the follow-up, Going where the loving is, which did sneak into the lower regions of the top 50.

I met-up with guitarist John Armstrong at Consett last seasoin where we were watching the FA Cup tie with Reds. Ex-Workington favourite Barry Donachy was aty the same game.

Drummer George Reid, of course, still lives in Workington nd I'm planning an interview with George for our audio section on those days in the 60's when the local lads headed south for the bright lights of London.

This is it then, the very first recording by the group and the promo film was made at Woburn Abbey.
